For 20 years, phaeno has been open around 330 days a year. That's around 6,600 very lively days that have left their mark - high time for an upgrade. That's why phaeno will be closed from 27 October to 12 December 2025 so that everything can be spruced up in time for its birthday.
Let us surprise you and look forward to the grand reopening on 13 December. Be there when we open the next chapter of phaeno together.

The lower pocketed level is closed to visitors. The fire tornado can only be admired from the upper level (until 7 May) The climate exhibition cannot be visited. Individual climate exhibits can be found in the exhibition. The KAPLA area will also be cancelled until further notice.

phaeno Umbau 2025 - Abbau RING3
Dismantling and reworking RING3.
RING3 has been a fascinating highlight from the very beginning, impressing our guests in the entrance area. Trimpin's work of art, which depicts the orbital periods of the planets in harmonious proportions, will shine in a new form in the future. The dismantling was also very impressive. We can't wait to see what's coming up at phaeno!

Our 2025 holiday programmes.
Despite the renovation and reworking of some of our exhibits, you can already make a note of these important dates in your diary:
Easter: Look forward to the chick hatch in the LIFE area and an exciting laser show. What else is coming? Let us surprise you. We will of course keep you up to date - just follow us on our social media channels Facebook and Instagram.
Summer: Of course, we'll be celebrating the last day of school with you again this year. The programme for School's Out Day and the summer holidays in Lower Saxony is still being planned.
Autumn: The curators are in talks for the autumn holiday programme and there will also be an exciting programme here, as we will then say goodbye from 27.10. to 12.12. and see you again for the re-opening on 13.12.2025.
