For 20 years, phaeno has been open around 330 days a year. That's around 6,600 very lively days that have left their mark - high time for an upgrade.
That's why phaeno is closing from 27 October to 12 December 2025 to give everything a spruce-up just in time for its birthday.

phaeno opened its doors for the first time on 24 November 2005 - and since then has welcomed almost five million visitors to the fascinating world of science. 20 years later, phaeno is celebrating its anniversary under special circumstances: the remodelling requires a 7-week closure. However, guests can look forward to a brilliant re-opening on 13 and 14 December 2025 with free admission. We spoke to CEO Michel Junge about the history and development of the Wolfsburg Science Centre and the big anniversary celebrations.
