The phaeno is located in the centre of Wolfsburg right next to the main railway station.

PLEASE NOTE: The Lehrte–Berlin railway line is undergoing modernisation:

As a result, the line will be closed on several occasions between 2 October 2026 and 11 December 2027. Travellers will still be able to get around thanks to diversions and replacement services.

Some sections of the line will require a complete closure for several months, whilst others will remain open, mostly as single-track operations.

By train.

phaeno is situated right next to Wolfsburg Central Station. You can easily reach Wolfsburg by local and long-distance trains.

You can find information on individual journeys by train directly from Deutsche Bahn.
The Niedersachsen-Ticket from Niedersachsentarif GmbH offers special rates (valid on local services only).

Deutsche Bahn offers special group deals for groups of 6 or more people.

Offers for school groups.

A special combined ticket for school pupils is available on the Hanover–Wolfsburg and Hildesheim–Wolfsburg routes.

A combined ticket also offers ideal conditions for school groups and teachers from Saxony-Anhalt to combine their train journey with a visit to phaeno and, if desired, the neighbouring Autostadt.

Travelling during the summer holidays.

During the summer holidays, pupils can travel to phaeno using the Lower Saxony Pupils’ Holiday Ticket or the Saxony-Anhalt Pupils’ Holiday Ticket.

By car or bus.

Coming from Hanover or Magdeburg, take the A2 to the Wolfsburg/Königslutter motorway junction (58). From there, join the A39 towards Wolfsburg. Stay on the A39 until the Wolfsburg-West junction and leave the motorway towards Autostadt. Turn right onto Heinrich-Nordhoff-Straße and follow the signs for ‘Bahnhof/phaeno’. 

If you’re coming from Oebisfelde/Gardelegen, take the B188 to Wolfsburg and turn onto the L322 (Berliner Ring) at Wolfsburg Castle. Follow the signs for ‘Bahnhof/phaeno’.

Coming from Gifhorn or Salzgitter, take the A39 to the Wolfsburg-West junction and leave the motorway towards Autostadt. Turn right onto Heinrich-Nordhoff-Straße and follow the signs for “Bahnhof/phaeno”.

phaeno is located right next to the station building.

By public transport, you can reach phaeno on buses operated by Wolfsburger Verkehrs-GmbH. The ‘ZOB’, ‘Stadtwerke’ and ‘Hauptbahnhof’ stops are all in the immediate vicinity.


Buses from the Braunschweig region also stop at the “ZOB”, “Stadtwerke” or “Hauptbahnhof” stops.

Parking.

You’ll find parking spaces in the underground car park directly beneath the phaeno building. Please note that the underground car park is not operated by phaeno. The system has been digitised by the operator. It works via number plate recognition. There are no longer any barriers or parking tickets.  Further information can be found at www.aufbau-gmbh.de 

Access is via the street ‘An der Vorburg’. After about 50 metres, you’ll find the entrance to the underground car park on the left-hand side.

Buses

The underground car park, with a clearance height of 2.00 m, is not suitable for buses! 

For buses, there are short-stay stopping points directly in front of the phaeno main entrance for passengers to get on and off, as well as to collect tickets. There are plenty of bus parking spaces available at the VolkswagenArena and in the Allerpark.

By bike.

It’s easy to cycle to phaeno. Various cycle paths make it easy to get to the Science Centre. If you’re coming from Oebisfelde or Gifhorn, for example, you can use the Aller Cycle Path

There are plenty of bike parking spaces at phaeno, at the railway station and at the foot of the Autostadt Bridge. phaeno is situated right next to the railway station in Wolfsburg, so you can also take your bike on the train and make a stop-off in Wolfsburg (and, of course, at phaeno).
