Discover what scientists, engineers and creative professionals really do – and why their job might be exactly what inspires you.
BRAINSTORM is a whole school day packed with real-life encounters, interactive stands and surprising insights – set amidst the spectacular hands-on environment of phaeno.
Representatives from the worlds of science, medicine, technology and education will show you what really happens in their day-to-day work. No lectures. No cramming. Instead, plenty of hands-on activities, questions and experimentation.
phaeno is a nationally recognised extracurricular learning centre. A trip here is always a journey into the world of science – and with BRAINSTORM, into the world of possibilities too.

Nothing is explained here – everything is done here. At exciting stands representing the regional science and education scene, you can get hands-on: touch, try things out, ask questions.

Over 300 phenomena await you – and today you have time to really get to the bottom of them. Physics, biology, maths, technology: everything hands-on in Germany’s largest experimental landscape.
Knowledge ambassadors
Real people, real stories. Scientists and experts share entertaining and personal accounts of how they got to where they are today – and what surprised them along the way.
Study & Career – in concrete terms
Medicine? Computer science? Engineering? Education? Here you’ll gain practical insights into various fields of study and careers – and perhaps discover what really appeals to you.
BRAINSTORM is aimed at pupils in lower and upper secondary school – that is, from Year 8/9 onwards, whether they attend a grammar school, secondary school, comprehensive school or vocational school. You come as a class, having registered in advance via phaeno. The visit costs just €8.25 per person – two accompanying adults per class are included. For classes with a phaeno school pass, admission is even free.

The phaeno in Wolfsburg is no ordinary building – it is a large-scale architectural sculpture by star architect Zaha Hadid. And inside: a world where wonder is expressly permitted.
All keynote talks will take place in the ‘Life’ area on the seating sculpture; interactive stations and exhibits can be found on the exhibition level. We look forward to seeing you.
