Mission energy transition - visit from Fallersleben grammar school.

20 pupils from Fallersleben highschool embark on a mission for the energy transition in the special exhibition Power2Change at phaeno ...

Right from the start, the pupils show their commitment and that they have already formed an opinion. Right at the beginning, they are asked by phaeno teacher Julia Schlüter, who gives a short introduction to the energy transition, whether it is feasible. Most of them are optimistic that this can work. The group soon splits up and begins to explore the exhibition.

Using discovery tour sheets, the pupils answer various questions within the exhibition. It starts with the red sock. How is it possible that it was knitted from carbon dioxide?

Finding the answer is no problem for the chemistry specialisation course. Carbon dioxide from industrial waste gases is used as a carbon source to produce the necessary chemicals. The participants are fascinated by the possibilities, but at the same time very sceptical. This is because although carbon dioxide from exhaust gases is used (consumed) for this process, it also requires a lot of energy.
